The first of three top ten matchups this weekend scored a multi-year high on ESPN.
Friday’s Stanford/Washington college football game scored a 2.4 overnight rating on ESPN, the network’s highest on the night — excluding Black Friday — since Boise State/Michigan State in 2012. The previous high was 2.3 for Florida State/Boston College last year. There was no comparable window last year.
Dating back to 2001, the 2.4 is the fourth-highest for a Friday night game on the ESPN family of networks (again excluding Black Friday).
In Seattle, the Huskies’ blowout win scored a 13.2 rating — the market’s second-highest since at least 2000 for college football on ESPN. The same Washington/Stanford matchup in 2013 had a 14.2 local rating.
