The memorial service for one of the most important figures in golf history will be televised live on two networks.
Both ESPN and Golf Channel will carry the memorial service for Arnold Palmer, the revered seven-time major golf champion who died late last month, Tuesday morning in its entirety. Tom Rinaldi will report on-site for ESPN and Kelly Tilghman and Rich Lerner will do so for Golf Channel.
On Golf Channel, which Palmer co-founded, the memorial will be just part of a nearly full-day tribute. The network will also carry the complete four-part documentary Arnie, highlights of his 1960 Masters victory, and a rebroadcast of the memorial later in the evening.
The only non-Palmer programming on Golf Channel will be the previously scheduled episodes of Feherty and Driver vs. Driver in primetime.
ESPN’s coverage will air as part of its daytime SportsCenter programming. In a particularly bleak year for the sports world, ESPN has already televised the memorial services for Muhammad Ali, Pat Summitt and just last week Marlins P Jose Fernandez.
