With just four games on the schedule, the NFL singleheader window had a modest drop in overnights on FOX.
The Week 5 NFL singleheader window, featuring Falcons/Broncos in 43% of markets, had a 10.9 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon — down 7% from coverage featuring Seahawks/Bengals last year (11.7) and down 15% from coverage featuring Cardinals/Broncos in 2014 (12.8).
After opening the season with increases for its first four telecasts — bucking the slump that enveloped the league’s other broadcast partners — FOX has now posted declines for three straight.
Entering Monday, the singleheader earned the second-highest overnight of Week 5 — trailing only the NFL national window on CBS (13.1). Its 10.9 overnight easily topped that of Thursday Night Football on CBS and NFL Network (8.8) and also topped NBC’s Sunday Night Football, which faced the presidential debate (10.2).
