With both teams having a poor start to the season, it should be no surprise that Stanford/Notre Dame hit a primetime low on NBC.
The Stanford/Notre Dame college football game had a 2.0 overnight rating on NBC Saturday night, up a tick from Navy/Notre Dame last year (1.9) but down 30% from Stanford/Notre Dame in 2014 (2.7), both of which aired in the afternoon.
The 2.0 overnight is the lowest for a primetime Notre Dame game on the NBC broadcast network in five years, since Maryland/Notre Dame in 2011 (1.4). Keep in mind last year’s primetime matchup between Boston College and Notre Dame, which had a 1.3 overnight, aired on NBCSN.
Head-to-head, Stanford/Notre Dame was nearly tripled by Ohio State/Wisconsin on ABC (5.6) and nearly doubled by Game 1 of the Dodgers/Cubs MLB playoff series on Fox Sports 1 (3.9).
