Hard to believe as it may be, the Cleveland Browns did not move the needle on Thursday.
The Week 10 Browns/Ravens Thursday Night Football game had a 3.5 final rating and 5.7 million viewers on NFL Network, down 27% in ratings and 25% in viewership from Bills/Jets last year (4.8, 7.6M) and down a third and 32%, respectively, from Browns/Bengals in 2014 (5.2, 8.3M).
The Browns’ latest loss earned the third-lowest rating and viewership of the NFL season, ahead of only Jaguars/Titans on TNF in Week 8 (3.2, 5.1M) and Giants/Rams from London in Week 7 (2.4, 3.7M). Overall, it was the fourth telecast this season to have fewer than six million viewers — more than the previous two seasons combined.
Of the 59 NFL telecasts this season, Thursday’s game was the 49th to decline in ratings and the 48th to do so in viewership. All-but-one of the 29 primetime windows has declined, with Texans/Patriots on TNF in Week 3 the lone exception.
TNF had a 2.0 rating in adults 18-49, down 22% from last year (2.6) and down 31% from 2014 (2.9).
