Big Gains For Winter Golf
- The final day of golf’s Shark Shootout had a 0.6 final rating and 846,000 viewers on FOX last Saturday afternoon, up 50% in ratings and 43% in viewership from last year (0.4, 590K) and up 50% and 45%, respectively, from 2014 (0.4, 583K). Over on NBC, the Father/Son Challenge also posted big gains. Sunday coverage had a 0.7 (+75%) and 1.0 million (+66%), while Saturday action had a 0.6 (+20%) and 846,000 (+38%). NCAA Volleyball Semis Mixed
- Thursday’s Texas/Nebraska NCAA women’s volleyball semifinal had 545,000 viewers on ESPN, down 4% from Kansas/Nebraska last year (568K) but up 43% from Penn State/Stanford in 2014 (382K), which both aired on ESPN2. In the early window, Stanford/Minnesota had 495,000 — up 21% from Texas/Minnesota last year (408K) and up 38% from BYU/Texas in ’14 (359K). (via Sports TV Ratings 12/16)
Warriors Ratings Up From Last Year’s Streak
- Through 24 telecasts, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area has averaged an 8.31 rating for Golden State Warriors games this season — up 8% from the comparable point last year, when the team opened on a 24-game winning streak (7.73). The Warriors are the highest rated NBA team on any RSN so far this year. (via SBD)
