Latest USMNT Match Up Big on Telemundo, Down Big on BeIN
- Tuesday’s United States-Panama World Cup qualifier had 281,000 viewers on BeIN Sport, down 72% from U.S.-Guatemela on the comparable date last year, which aired on ESPN (954K). Some of those lost viewers almost certainly gravitated to the Spanish-language telecast on the more familiar Telemundo, which had 1.4 million viewers — up 49% from last year’s match on UniMas (938K) and the largest USMNT audience on a single network since the squad’s loss to Mexico in November.
NBA TV Hits Season-High For Warriors-Rockets
- Warriors-Rockets earned a 0.5 final rating and 744,000 viewers on NBA TV’s Fan Night Tuesday, the network’s largest NBA audience of the season. The previous high was 627,000 for Warriors-Lakers in November. The previous night, TNT earned a 1.15 and 1.9 million for Cavaliers-Spurs and a 0.6 with 942,000 for Pelicans-Jazz. There were no comparable games last year.
Another Sub-Million Audience For NHL on NBC
- Wild-Red Wings had a 0.6 final rating and 946,000 viewers on the NHL on NBC Sunday afternoon, flat in ratings and up 8% in viewership from Blues-Red Wings in 2015 (0.6, 878K). There was no comparable window last year. It was the fourth game on NBC this season with fewer than one million viewers, compared to zero such telecasts last year. Later in the night, Flyers-Penguins had a 0.3 (flat) and 580,000 (-10%) on NBCSN. In other recent action, Blackhawks-Lightning had 235,000 on NBCSN Monday (+22%).
