Federer-Nadal Lifts Miami Open Final
- Last Sunday’s Roger Federer–Rafael Nadal Miami Open men’s final had a 0.3 final rating and 495,000 viewers on ESPN2, up 36% in ratings and viewership from Novak Djokovic–Kei Nishikori last year (0.25, 364K) but down a tick and 21% respectively from Djokovic-Andy Murray on ESPN in 2015 (0.4, 625K). Viewership rose even higher for the previous day’s Johanna Konta–Caroline Wozniacki women’s final, which had a 0.2 and 335,000 (+51%).
World Figure Skating Championships Down Big in Primetime
- Primetime coverage of the World Figure Skating Championships pulled a 1.2 final rating and 1.8 million viewers on NBC last Saturday night, down a third in ratings and 32% in viewership from last year, when the event took place in the U.S. (1.8, 2.7M), and down 20% and 19% respectively from 2015 (1.5, 2.2M).
Latest USWNT Match Down From Last Year
- Thursday’s United States-Russia women’s soccer friendly had 253,000 viewers on Fox Sports 1, down 15% from U.S.-Colombia on the same date last year (296K). Not counting the U.S. loss to France in the SheBelieves Cup, which pulled just 7,000 viewers on Fox Sports 2, it was the least watched USWNT match since their friendly against Romania in November (145K).
