1.4M For ESPN’s Celtics-Lakers Premiere
- Night one of the ESPN 30 For 30 documentary Celtics/Lakers: Best of Enemies earned a 0.9 final rating and 1.4 million viewers Tuesday, including a 1.0 and 1.5 million for the last hour. On the comparable night last year, Part II of O.J.: Made in America premiered with 1.7 million.
Yankees Can’t Lift MLB on FOX
- Regional MLB action featuring Orioles-Yankees in 81% of markets earned a 1.5 final rating and 2.3 million viewers on FOX, down 17% in ratings and 21% in viewership from last year (1.8, 2.9M) but up a tick and 3% respectively from 2015 (1.4, 2.2M). Earlier in the day, Royals-Padres had 292,000 on Fox Sports 1; there was no comparable window last year.
Sunday Night Baseball Has Third Drop in Four Weeks
- Tigers-Red Sox earned 1.3 million viewers on the latest edition of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball, down 21% from Dodgers-Giants (1.7M) and down 10% from Reds-Cubs in 2015 (1.5M). Ratings fell 17% year-over-year (from 1.03 to 0.85). Ratings and viewership have declined for three of the last four SNB telecasts, after five of the first seven increased. In other action, last Thursday’s Red Sox-Yankees game had 749,000; there was no comparable window last year.
