Cards-Cubs Up Big on SNB
- Cardinals-Cubs earned a 1.3 rating and 2.1 million viewers on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball last weekend, up 44% in ratings and 55% in viewership from Dodgers-Cardinals last year (0.9, 1.4M) and up a tick and 22% respectively from Tigers-Red Sox in 2015 (1.2, 1.7M). It was the fifth SNB window this season to exceed two million viewers, compared to three all of last season. In other action, Rockies-Cardinals scored 569,000 viewers on Monday night (-34%) and last Wednesday’s doubleheader of Cardinals-Mets and Nationals-Angels scored 438,000 (-40%) and 429,000, respectively.
Cards-Cubs Slips on FS1
- Fox Sports 1 earned a 0.40 rating and 565,000 viewers for Cardinals-Cubs on Saturday afternoon, down 7% in ratings and 11% in viewership from Giants-Yankees last year (0.43, 635K) but up 82% and 74% respectively from A’s-Giants in 2015 (0.22, 324K). Afterward, Rangers-Rays drew a 0.30 (+3%) and 479,000 (+5%). On TBS Sunday, Astros-Orioles had a 0.23 (-32%) and 332,000 (-29%).
Big Jump For Real Madrid-Man. Utd.
- Sunday’s Real Madrid-Manchester United International Champions Cup match drew a 0.30 rating and 443,000 viewers on ESPN, up 71% in viewership from Inter Milan-Paris St. Germain last year (279K). In other action, last Thursday’s Manchester Derby (Man. U. against Manchester City) had a 0.29 and 451,000.
