Fewer Viewers For El Clasico
- The first leg of the Real Madrid-Barcelona Super Cup final earned a 0.35 rating and 570,000 viewers on ESPN last Sunday, down 30% in ratings and 32% in viewership from the network’s coverage of the same match at the International Champions Cup two weeks earlier (0.5, 836K). The second leg had 315,000 on ESPN2 Wednesday afternoon.
Bolt Farewell Dips
- Coverage of the World Track & Field Championships — featuring Usain Bolt‘s final race — earned a 0.8 rating and 1.24 million viewers on NBC last Saturday, flat in ratings and down 3% in viewership from the comparable day of the 2015 event (0.8, 1.28M). It trailed the following day’s coverage, which had 1.3 million.
Season-Low For NASCAR Xfinity
- NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Mid-Ohio earned a 0.6 rating and 916,000 viewers on NBCSN last Saturday, flat in ratings and down 7% in viewership from last year, when coverage aired on USA Network opposite the Olympics (0.6, 985K), and down a tick and 10% respectively from 2015 (0.7, 1.0M). It was the least-watched regularly scheduled race of the season.
