ABC’s college football ratings were down across the board in week seven, but the network still topped the charts.
ABC earned a 2.7 rating and 4.1 million viewers for last Saturday’s Michigan-Indiana college football game, down 10% in ratings and 9% in viewership from N.C. State-Clemson last year (3.0, 4.5M) but up 17% and 24% respectively from regional action in 2015 (2.3, 3.3M).
Despite the decline, it was the highest rated and most-watched game of week seven. ABC has now topped the charts in six of seven weeks this season.
A Big Ten conference game has now topped the charts in three of the past four weeks.
Later in the day, Georgia Tech-Miami delivered a 2.1 (-9%) and 3.38 million (-9%).
Rounding out a downer weekend, Utah-USC scored a season-low 2.0 and 3.19 million on ABC’s Saturday Night Football — down 62% in ratings and 64% in viewership from Ohio State-Wisconsin last year (5.2, 9.0M) and down 39% and 46% respectively from Penn State-Ohio State (3.3, 5.9M).
Including streaming viewership, Michigan-Indiana had 4.2 million viewers, Georgia Tech-Miami had 3.44 million and Utah-USC had 3.24 million.
