NFL Week 9 ratings increased on CBS, but dropped on FOX and NBC, in the metered markets.
Sunday’s Chiefs-Cowboys NFL national window delivered a 14.2 overnight rating on CBS, up 11% from coverage featuring Colts-Packers last year (12.8) but down 12% from Broncos-Colts — Peyton Manning‘s final game in Indianapolis — in 2015 (16.1).
The 14.2 is the highest of the season on CBS, topping the previous mark of 14.0 for the Week 6 national window (featuring PIT-KC).
Earlier in the day, regional action on CBS delivered a 9.2 overnight — up 18% from last year (7.8) but down 2% from 2015 (9.4).
Over on NBC, Raiders-Dolphins had a mere 9.6 on Sunday Night Football — down 18% from Raiders-Broncos last year (11.7) and down 35% from Eagles-Cowboys in 2015 (14.7).
The 9.6 is the second-lowest of the season for SNF, ahead of only Steelers-Lions opposite the World Series the previous week (9.4). Per Sports Business Daily, it is also the lowest Week 9 SNF overnight since NBC began carrying the series in 2006.
Rounding out the Sunday slate, FOX posted a 9.6 overnight for its singleheader window — Falcons-Panthers or Rams-Giants in most markets — down 23% from last year (feat. DAL-CLE: 12.4) and down 29% from 2015 (feat. GB-CAR: 13.6).
