The NFL on FOX suffered the only decline of Week 12. Also: ratings for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the NHL.
FOX Posts Only Decline of Week 12
Last Sunday’s Week 12 NFL singleheader, featuring Seahawks-Panthers in 42% of markets or Giants-Eagles in 33%, had an 8.6 rating and 14.6 million viewers on FOX — down 3% in ratings and 5% in viewership from last year (ft. Bears-Eagles: 8.9, 15.4M) and down 12% and 13% respectively from 2016 (ft. Seahawks-Buccaneers: 9.8, 16.8M).
It was the lowest rated Week 12 singleheader since at least 2000 and the least-watched since 2006 (13.6M).
The singleheader was the only NFL telecast in Week 12 to decline (eight windows).
ISU GP Tops Million Mark
Taped coverage of the Internationaux de France, part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, earned a 0.7 rating and 1.11 million viewers on NBC Sunday — down 22% in ratings and 24% in viewership from Skate America on the comparable day last year (0.9, 1.46M). NBC did not air the French event the past two years.
The telecast ranks as the most-watched of this year’s ISU GP.
Surging Sabres Boost NBCSN
Flyers-Sabres scored 290,000 viewers on NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Hockey last week, up 7% from last year (Blackhawks-Lightning: 272K) and up 18% from 2016 (Flyers-Lightning: 245K). As previously noted, the game had a 13.8 in Buffalo, the market’s highest ever for regular season NHL on NBCSN.
In other action, NBCSN drew 160,000 for Blackhawks-Lightning on Friday night and 189,000 for Golden Knights-Blackhawks on Tuesday (-52%).
Final nationals for last Friday’s Rangers-Flyers game on NBC are not yet available.
