Ratings: EPL, NHL, PGA Tour, Premier Boxing

Last Sunday’s Manchester United-Tottenham English Premier League match scored a 0.5 rating and 876,000 viewers on NBCSN, ranking as the most-watched match of the season on cable. The previous high was 819,000 for Manchester United-Liverpool last month.

It was the most-watched meeting between the sides in at least five years.

With that said, it was not the top EPL match of last weekend — trailing Newcastle-Chelsea on NBC the previous day (0.7, 1.00M).

Bruins-Flyers scored a 0.25 rating and 402,000 viewers on the latest edition of NBCSN’s NHL Wednesday Night Hockey, marking an 11% decline in viewership from last year (Canadiens-Bruins: 454K) and a 10% decline from 2016 (Bruins-Red Wings: 447K).

Later in the night, Sharks-Coyotes had 185,000 (-4%).

In other action, Blackhawks-Rangers scored 162,000 on NBCSN Thursday, Kings-Wild had 207,000 on Tuesday, and Canadiens-Bruins had 345,000 on Monday. Last year’s comparable figures were not available.

Last Sunday’s final round of the PGA Tour Sony Open delivered a 0.35 rating and 545,000 viewers on Golf Channel, up 6% in ratings and 4% in viewership from last year (0.33, 524K) and 106% and 93% respectively from 2017 (0.17, 282K). It surpassed last year as the most-watched final round of the tournament in at least a decade.

Coverage of Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 delivered a 0.50 rating and 761,000 viewers last Sunday, marking the largest PBC audience ever on the network. FS1 has aired PBC coverage since the series launched in 2015. The telecast peaked with 986,000 from 10 PM ET through the conclusion.
