Overnights tied a season-low for the NFL national window.
The Week 9 NFL national window (Packers-Chargers in 87% of markets) averaged a 13.0 rating on CBS, tied as the lowest for the window this season. It matched the Week 4 national window (mostly Vikings-Bears).
The 13.0 is the lowest for the Week 9 national window since 2016 (mostly Colts-Packers: 12.8), falling 14% from last year on FOX (Rams-Saints: 15.2) and 8% from 2017 on CBS (Chiefs-Cowboys: 14.2).
The telecast was just the third national window to decline this season, but the second-straight.
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Colts-Steelers in 70% of markets averaged a 7.6 (-17%), the lowest Week 9 rating in the window since 2004 (6.8).
Overnights for the early doubleheader game have dropped double-digits in three straight weeks, but that comes with a major caveat: in two of those three weeks, final ratings ended up increasing double-digits.
In other action, FOX averaged an 11.4 overnight for its singleheader window (mostly Vikings-Chiefs or Bears-Eagles) — up 13% from last year on CBS (10.1), up 19% from 2017 on FOX (ft. Falcons-Panthers: 9.6), and the highest in Week 9 since 2016 (ft. Cowboys-Browns: 12.4).
NBC no longer releases overnights for its Sunday Night Football games. No figures were available for the Sunday morning Texans-Jaguars game from London.
