ESPN to re-air OJ doc
ESPN announced Friday that it will rebroadcast its five-part 2016 30 For 30 documentary series “O.J.: Made in America” over four days next week. Parts one and two will air on Monday, followed by part three on Tuesday, part four on Wednesday and part five on Thursday. The series was the first and thus far only ESPN program to win an Academy Award. [ESPN PR 3.20]
NBCSN to air hockey marathons next week
NBCSN announced Friday that it will broadcast a “Hockey Week in America” initiative next week that includes twelve hours of hockey-related programming from Monday through Sunday, March 29. The series will include marathons of NHL and Olympic hockey games based on a specific theme, such as Monday’s lineup of Stanley Cup playoff game sevens that went to overtime. [NBC Sports PR 3.20]
NBC Sports Washington to air simulated Wizards, Capitals games
NBC Sports Washington will broadcast video game simulations of the remaining games on the Washington Wizards and Capitals schedules this season, starting with a simulated Wizards-Bucks game on Saturday night. The network will use NBA 2K20 and NHL 20 for its simulations. The Capitals games will be called by the network’s usual announcers, while the Wizards games will use the NBA 2K20 recordings. PGA Championship postponed
The PGA Tour announced Wednesday that this year’s PGA Championship has been postponed from May 14-17 until “it is once again safe and responsible” to hold the event. The PGA Championship is the second major to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, following The Masters.
