The Big Ten has announced its fall college football schedule, again.
The Big Ten on Saturday announced a revised fall college football schedule that would begin October 24. The conference had originally planned to begin its football season as soon as Labor Day weekend and announced a schedule, but then last month announced that it would postpone all fall sports until the spring. It reversed that decision earlier in the week.
Under the new schedule, each Big Ten team would play a nine-game schedule that would run through December 19. The ninth game would be a cross-divisional matchup pitting each team against the corresponding seed in the other division, with the #1 seeds playing each other in the Big Ten Championship Game.
The annual Michigan-Ohio State game would be held December 12. Under the previous Big Ten schedule, the rivals were set to meet October 24. Typically, they play over Thanksgiving weekend. Other notable games would include Michigan-Michigan State and Ohio State-Penn State on October 31.
FOX would open its Big Ten schedule with Nebraska-Ohio State on October 24. [Related: College Football TV Schedule.]
The Pac-12, which announced that it would postpone all fall sports until January 1, is also mulling a return per multiple reports. As for the other “Power 5” conferences, the ACC and Big 12 have both played two weeks of games and the SEC plans to begin play next weekend.
