It’s the first show of November and host T.J. Rives and Jon Lewis are back to go over the latest in Sports TV and media.
First up, the World Series continues, as Houston stayed alive with a game 5 win Sunday night. Jon gives insight and a great comparison to the famed ’86 World Series with the Mets/Red Sox and what other network TV ratings looked like 35 years ago during that week.
The guys also discuss the broadcast shift by Fox Sports of having up and coming broadcaster Joe Davis work the Bucs-Saints national game with Troy Aikman. This as Joe Buck is still working the World Series on Fox with John Smoltz. Is Davis a potential “heir apparent” to one of those roles in place of Buck or is it Buck’s “gig for life” until he doesn’t want to do them?
The guys also conclude with some “Love it or Leave it” that includes. the topics of analytics, marching bands at college football games and also basketball shot clocks, too!
