It’s a brand new episode of the show with everything from baseball’s “mid-Summer classic” to the audience for golf’s latest major and more on the “SportsMediaWatch.com Podcast.”
Host T.J. Rives returns with Jon Lewis (aka “Paulsen”) of SportsMediaWatch.com to discuss the latest topics, ratings and have a special guest on this week, too.
First, the guys go over the MLB All-Star Week in L.A. with the Home Run Derby from Monday. Did they watch? Has it run it’s course? Then, what about the game and it’s broadcast on Tuesday night from Dodger Stadium? How did Joe Davis do in his time in the All-Star booth on Fox with veteran analyst/former World Champion pitcher John Smoltz? The boys also have thoughts on whether the All Star game should be modified like MLB is already doing with other aspects of their regular season games, too?
Next, there’s discussion on the British Open concluding with a Sunday win by Australia’s Cam Smith. Smith outdueled fan favorite Rory McIlroy of Ireland down the stretch to capture the “Claret Jug” and golf’s final major championship of the ’22 season? How were their ratings and how does the audience compare to what else was on TV this weekend, including at night, etc.? Plus, could Charles Barkley really leave TNT for the LIV golf tour?
Next, T.J. brings George Ofman aboard from the “Tell Me A Story I Don’t Know” podcast series on this feed. That show is going to have a special “Encore Week” next week (7/25-29) that will feature Bob Costas, Sarah Kustok, Mike Greenberg, Eddie Olczyk and Mike Wilbon as individual guest conversations each day. George has great insight into these shows and why he picked those guests as the best to be part of his catalog of over 50 interviews so far of the series?
Finally, T.J. and Jon play some “Love it or Leave it?” with a couple of subjects, including the MLB All Star uniforms, college football conference media days coverage and why is the NBA being heavy handed with YouTube broadcasts of their old games? Jon is definitely NOT a fan of that!
Hear it all on the latest “SportsMediaWatch.com Podcast” and make sure to follow/subscribe to this feed of shows on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google, etc.!!
