ESPN earned less-than-spectacular numbers for Monday’s battle between the sub-.500 Chargers and Jaguars.
The Week 13 edition of Monday Night Football, pitting the 5-6 Chargers against the 3-8 Jaguars, earned a mere 6.9 overnight rating on ESPN — down 38% from Week 13 last year (NE/NYJ: 11.2), and down 23% from Week 13 in 2009 (BAL/GB: 8.9).
According to industry publication Sports Business Daily, the 6.9 overnight is the lowest for Monday Night Football since 2007.
This marks only the second time in the past six weeks that overnight ratings have declined for Monday Night Football.
