Newly minted Turner Sports NBA analyst Shaquille O’Neal will not cover the NCAA Tournament for the network.
O’Neal told reporters Thursday that he will not be a part of NCAA Tournament coverage on Turner Sports and CBS Sports this season, adding that he is “not really a fan of college basketball” (USA Today, 12/15).
The news is not surprising. As Sports Media Watch reported in July, there is no NCAA Tournament component to O’Neal’s deal with Turner Sports — though that could change in the future.
