The Jets’ upset of the Eagles dominated the week on television.
The NFL national window on FOX (mostly Eagles-Jets) averaged more than 26 million viewers, the largest Nielsen-measured audience of the season and nearly ten million more viewers than any other television program last week. NBC’s Sunday Night Football ranked a very distant second with 16.71 million, a season-low. For more NFL ratings, see the linked page.
Shifting to the college game, Washington’s narrow win over Oregon topped the charts with just over seven million viewers, followed not far behind by USC-Notre Dame at 6.43 million. More college football ratings are available here.
The week’s top non-football audience was 7.02 million for Game 1 of the Rangers-Astros ALCS, which aired immediately following the NFL on FOX Sunday night. The Rangers’ win delivered the largest LCS Game 1 audience since Dodgers-Cubs in 2016 (7.31M).
