Ratings keep rising for the PGA Tour. In other news, ratings were mixed for the U.S. Olympic track & field and diving trials last weekend.
- Travelers Championship Final Round Up Double-Digits: Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Travelers Championship drew a 1.6 final rating on CBS last Sunday, up 23% from last year (1.3), but down a tick from 2010 (1.7). Third round action the previous day drew a 1.1, even with last year (1.1), and up 38% from 2010 (0.8). Fourteen of the 22 PGA Tour tournaments this season have had double-digit increases for final round coverage. (Weekend numbers from Sports Business Daily)
- Mixed Numbers For Track & Field Trials: Coverage of the U.S. Olympic track & field trials drew a 2.5 final rating on NBC last Saturday night, up 14% from comparable coverage in 2008 (2.2). On Sunday, additional track & field coverage drew a 2.9 final rating, down 15% from coverage featuring both track & field and swimming in 2008 (3.4). (Sports Business Daily)
- Diving Trials Mixed as Well: Ratings were also mixed for the U.S. Olympic diving trials. Coverage last Saturday afternoon drew a 1.3 final rating on NBC, up 18% from 2008 (1.1). The following day, additional coverage drew a 1.6 — down 27% from 2008 (2.2). (Sports Business Daily)
