The 2012 London Olympics has not just been a boon for NBC and NBC Sports Network.
MSNBC averaged 713,000 viewers for day-long coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics on Saturday and Sunday, up 46% from Beijing in 2008 (489K).
In particular, the 12-5 PM ET telecast windows over the weekend averaged 1.494 million viewers — up 44% from 2008 (1.035M), and up 163% from Athens in 2004 (567K).
Meanwhile, CNBC averaged 698,000 viewers for afternoon boxing coverage, up 24% from 2008 (561K). In a Tuesday press release, NBC did not disclose viewership for the morning boxing telecast windows.
