Ratings dipped somewhat for the sixth night of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but NBC is not complaining.
Preliminary numbers indicate NBC averaged a 16.5/27 overnight rating with 27.2 million viewers in prime time (8-11 PM) for last night’s Olympics telecast. By comparison, Tuesday night coverage drew a 19.0/30 and 32.0 million viewers in prime time.
Prime time coverage, which does not include anything past 11 PM, peaked with 31.7 million viewers from 10-10:30 PM.
In other Olympics ratings news, coverage on Tuesday night, featuring Michael Phelps and the women’s gymnastics team finals, peaked with a 23.9/43 rating and 41.2 million viewers from 11-11:30 PM.
