CBS earned strong numbers for the latest chapter of the Tom Brady/Peyton Manning rivalry.
The Week 5 NFL national window, featuring Broncos/Patriots in 81% of markets, earned a 15.7 overnight rating on CBS — up a tick from coverage featuring Jets/Patriots last year (15.6), and up 8% from coverage featuring Titans/Cowboys in 2010 (14.6).
The 15.7 is the second-highest of the season for the NFL national window, trailing only Week 1 coverage on FOX (17.1).
CBS easily led the way among NFL TV partners Sunday, topping the FOX singleheader window by 26% and NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” by 34%.
Earlier in the day, regional NFL action including Browns/Giants drew a 9.3 overnight — up 2% from last year (9.1), and up 12% from 2010 (8.3).
