Opposite the Olympics, baseball on FOX and golf on CBS drew season-low ratings.
FOX Saturday Baseball drew a 1.3/3 overnight rating on Saturday, down a whopping 59% from a 3.2/8 on the comparable Saturday last year. The 1.3 overnight is the lowest of the season so far, and final ratings could end up being the lowest ever for Major League Baseball on broadcast.
Meanwhile, ratings for the PGA Tour continue to crater without the presence of Tiger Woods. The final round of the Wyndham Championship drew a measly 0.9 overnight rating on CBS Sunday, down 31% from a 1.3 last year. Third round coverage on Saturday averaged a mere 0.7 overnight, down 30% from a 1.0 last year.
Also affected by the Olympics was the Little League World Series on ABC. Saturday’s game drew a 0.5 overnight, down 51% from a 1.1 last year, and Sunday’s game finished with a 0.7, down 59% from a 1.7 last year.
