The 2013 NCAA Tournament concluded with impressive numbers on Monday night.
Monday’s Louisville/Michigan NCAA Tournament National Championship Game drew a 14.3 overnight rating on CBS, up 18% from Kentucky/Kansas last year (12.1), and up 8% from Connecticut/Butler in 2011 (13.3).
The 14.3 overnight is the third-highest for the title game in the past decade, trailing only North Carolina/Illinois in 2005 (16.0) and Duke/Butler in 2010 (16.0).
Louisville/Michigan earned the highest overnight for any non-NFL sporting event since the Alabama/Notre Dame BCS National Championship Game on ESPN in January (15.7).
Louisville was the top market for Monday’s game with a whopping 54.0 rating, up 6% from Kentucky’s win in the title game last year (51.1). Detroit (33.5), Columbus, OH (26.4), Indianapolis (25.1) and Cincinnati (24.7) rounded out the top five.
