Fox Sports, already adding several new faces for its Fox Sports 1 channel, is making changes to its NFL line-up.
SportsNet New York broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt is joining Fox Sports as an NFL play-by-play voice, Sports Illustrated reported Sunday night. Burkhardt will work alongside analyst John Lynch, with Erin Andrews “likely” joining the team as a sideline reporter on several games.
Also joining the “NFL on FOX” team is former Buccaneers CB Ronde Barber. According to Awful Announcing, the recently retired Barber will serve as a game analyst for the network’s NFL coverage.
Fox Sports is also said to be pursuing former Eagles QB Donovan McNabb a role on Fox Sports 1 (The Big Lead, 5/31). It was not immediately clear whether McNabb, who would be one of the higher-profile FS1 hires, would have a role on FOX NFL coverage.
Fox Sports began shuffling its NFL line-up early this year, giving the Thom Brennaman and Brian Billick broadcast team a plum playoff assignment.
