Cast of “Fox Sports Live” Announced
- Fox Sports has officially announced the cast of the new “Fox Sports Live” news and highlights show set to debut on Fox Sports 1 next month. Joining previous hires Dan O’Toole, Jay Onrait and Andy Roddick will be former ESPN host Charissa Thompson, former NBA TV studio analyst Gary Payton, and former NFLers Donovan McNabb and Ephraim Salaam. Thompson, Roddick, Payton, McNabb and Salaam will be part of the show’s nightly panel discussions. (Fox Sports)
NYT Writer Battista Leaves For NFL
- Longtime New York Times sportswriter Judy Battista has joined NFL Media as a writer for NFL.com and an on-air contributor to NFL Network. Battista, who covered the NFL for The Times for nearly a decade, will start August 5. The news came just days after The Times lost high-profile statistician Nate Silver to ESPN. (NFL Communications)
Olbermann to Bring Back “Worst Person in the World” Segment
- ESPN anchor Keith Olbermann plans to bring back his “Worst Person in the World” segment for his eponymous ESPN2 show. The segment, which ran on Olbermann’s “Countdown” cable news program on both MSNBC and Current TV, would take on a sports focus and be renamed the “Worst Person in the Sports World.” (startribune.com)
