Despite a blowout in the featured game, FOX put in a solid performance for the NFL singleheader window.
The Week 2 NFL singleheader window, featuring Washington/Packers in most markets, drew a 12.8 final rating and 21.9 million viewers on FOX — up 7% in ratings and 10% in viewership from coverage featuring Cowboys/Seahawks last year (12.0, 19.9M), but down 3% in both measures compared to coverage featuring Bears/Saints in 2011 (13.2, 22.5M).
In a rarity, the singleheader outdrew NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” (12.2, 20.5M).
As FOX noted in a Thursday press release, Sunday’s performance was especially impressive considering that the Washington/Packers game — airing in 58% of markets — was an uncompetitive blowout.
