FOX continued a slow start for its college football coverage last week.
The Ohio State/Cal college football game drew a 2.0 final rating and 3.3 million viewers on FOX, down 20% in ratings and 16% in viewership from Southern Cal/Stanford last year (2.5, 3.9M). So far, both college football telecasts on FOX this season have declined double-digits from last year.
The telecast was comfortably outdrawn by the concurrent Notre Dame/Purdue game on ABC (3.0, 4.8M). With that said, the game was the fourth-most viewed college football telecast of the weekend — trailing only Notre Dame/Purdue, UCLA/Nebraska on ABC (4.2M) and Alabama/Texas A&M on CBS (13.6M).
Over on Fox Sports 1, the top game of the day was Iowa/Iowa State (0.3, 567K), followed by Oregon State/Utah (0.3, 396K) and Virginia Tech/ECU (0.3, 347K).
* CORRECTION 9/21: Ohio State/Cal was the 4th-most viewed college football game of the weekend, not the third.
