The American League Wild Card game attracted solid numbers on TBS, but could not match last year.
Tuesday’s Rays/Indians American League Wild Card game earned a 3.0 U.S. rating and 4.7 million viewers on TBS, according to Nielsen fast-nationals, down 12% in ratings and 11% in viewership from the Orioles/Rangers AL Wild Card on a Friday night last year (3.4, 5.3M).
The game drew slightly more viewers than the Reds/Pirates NL Wild Card game the previous night (3.0, 4.6M).
Cleveland was the top market for the game, with a 25.2 rating — the market’s highest for an MLB telecast since Game 7 of the 2007 ALCS. In Tampa-St. Petersburg, the game drew a 15.5 rating.
