The MLB Division Series opened with mixed numbers on Thursday night.
Game 1 of the Dodgers/Braves National League Division Series earned a 2.3 U.S. rating and 3.5 million viewers on TBS Thursday night, up 21% in ratings and 13% in viewership from Reds/Giants Game 1 on a Saturday night last year (1.9, 3.1M).
There was no comparable telecast window on the first day of the Division Series in 2011.
Dodgers/Braves earned a 10.2 rating in Atlanta and an 8.4 in Los Angeles.
Earlier in the day, Game 1 of the Pirates/Cardinals NLDS drew a 1.7 and 2.6 million viewers — down 11% in ratings and 16% in viewership from Athletics/Tigers Game 1 last year (1.9, 3.1M), and down 11% and 9%, respectively, from Rays/Rangers Game 1 in 2011 (1.9, 2.9M).
Locally, Game 1 drew a 19.3 rating in St. Louis and a 19.2 in Pittsburgh.
