Despite a lengthy weather delay during the featured game, CBS drew solid numbers for NFL coverage in Week 11.
The Week 11 NFL singleheader on CBS drew an 8.9 final rating and 14.8 million viewers, the second-lowest rating and viewership of the season for the singleheader window. Only Week 4 coverage on CBS earned lower numbers (8.2, 13.3M).
Considering the extenuating circumstances — the network’s featured Ravens/Bears game was delayed two hours due to severe weather — the numbers are not bad. Bonus coverage during the rain delay, available only in the markets receiving Ravens/Bears, drew a 2.2 rating and 3.7 million viewers.
So far this season, the NFL singleheader has been a much weaker draw on CBS than on FOX. The five singleheader telecasts on CBS have drawn ratings between 8.2 and 9.9, while the six telecasts on FOX have earned ratings between 10.8 and 12.8.
