No game of the Stanley Cup Final has ever had a larger overnight on NBCSN than Saturday morning’s clash between the United States and Russia.
Saturday’s USA/Russia Olympic men’s hockey game earned a 3.3 overnight rating on NBCSN, the largest overnight ever for hockey on the network (previously VERSUS and OLN). The previous mark was a 3.1 overnight for Game 3 of the 2013 Blackhawks/Bruins Stanley Cup Final.
Keep in mind the USA/Russia game aired at 7:30 AM ET.
Of course, keep in mind that this is the first year NBCSN has aired Olympic hockey. In 2010, MSNBC aired the highest profile USA hockey games.
