Thursday night’s classic triple-overtime Game 6 between the Celtics and Bulls was a hit in Boston and Chicago.
The Bulls’ 128-127 victory drew record ratings on both Comcast SportsNet Chicago and Comcast SportsNet New England.
In Chicago, Game 6 drew a 6.35 rating on CSN Chicago, the second-highest rating ever for a Bulls game on the net. Numbers for the game on TNT in Chicago are unavailable. The 6.35 is especially impressive when one notes that both the Blackhawks and Cubs also played on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, in Boston, Game 6 drew a massive 13.4 rating — an 8.2 on CSN New England, and a 5.2 on TNT. The 8.2 on CSN New England is the highest rating ever for a Celtics telecast on the network.
Tuesday’s Game 5, which also went to overtime, drew a 4.55 on CSN Chicago (TNT numbers in Chicago not available) and a 9.6 in Boston (6.3 on CSN New England and a 3.3 on TNT).
