Celtic pride was in full display in Boston Saturday night.
The Celtics’ Game 7 victory over the Bulls drew a massive 17.3 rating in Boston on Saturday, with Comcast SportsNet New England drawing a 10.1 and TNT drawing a 7.2. The 10.1 for the CSN New England broadcast is the best rating ever for a Celtics telecast on the net, surpassing the previous record of 8.2 for Game 6 between the Celtics and Bulls on Thursday.
The Celtics’ win was the highest rated program of the night in Boston, easily surpassing the Red Sox on NESN (8.6) and the Kentucky Derby on NBC (7.7). The game also outdrew the 9.5 for Bruins/Hurricanes Game 1 on NESN the previous day.
Excluding Game 4, Celtics/Bulls averaged an 11.7 rating in Boston, which CSN New England averaging a 7.3 rating and TNT/ESPN averaging a 4.4. Game 4 on ABC last Sunday drew a 10.5 rating in Boston.
In Chicago, Game 7 drew a 5.84 rating on CSN Chicago. Ratings for TNT in Chicago were unavailable.
