While Penguins/Capitals Game 7 tore up the record books in Pittsburgh, the results were less spectacular in Washington.
The Capitals’ blowout loss to the Penguins drew a 5.5 rating on Comcast SportsNet in the DC DMA, the highest rating of the season for a Capitals game on CSN. The 5.5 rating is surprisingly low, considering that last year’s Flyers/Capitals Game 7 — in the first round — drew a 5.6 rating on CSN.
Four Capitals/Penguins games on CSN averaged a 4.4 rating, topping the 2.9 Rangers/Capitals averaged on the network and a 3.5 for Flyers/Capitals in ’08.
