Viewership for the Tour de France on NBCSN increased slightly over last year. In other news, NBCSN has had the biggest increase in viewership of any cable sports net since Fox Sports 1 launched and the Brewers and Rays hit ratings highs recently.
Slight Uptick For Tour de France on NBCSN
- Live coverage of the 2014 Tour de France averaged 288,000 viewers on NBCSN, up less than 1% from last year (287K) and down 1% from 2012 (290K). Keep in mind the average does not include Stage 8 on NBC, which earned 959,000 viewers. NBCSN’s nightly Tour de France highlights show averaged 210,000 viewers, up 16% from last year (181K). NBCSN Has Biggest Increase in Viewership Since FS1 Launch
- NBCSN has had an 80% increase in average total-day viewership since last August 17, the day the network’s Premier League coverage debuted and also the day Fox Sports 1 launched. The 80% increase is the largest of any cable sports network over that period of time. Excluding the recent Winter Olympics, NBCSN viewership has increased by 44% — still the largest rise of any cable sports network. (NBC Sports Group Press Box)
Brewers, Rays, Hit Highs
- The recent three-game Brewers/Mets series averaged a 7.7 rating on Fox Sports Wisconsin, the network’s highest rated series since 2011. Friday’s opener had an 8.6 rating, the network’s second-best of the season. The Brewers’ most recent game against the Rays was also a ratings success — in Tampa. Sun Sports tied a season-high with a 6.3 rating for the match-up. (Fox Sports [1], [2])
