Continuing the general trend for golf this season, overnight ratings declined for the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Final round coverage of the Deutsche Bank Championship, the second leg of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup, earned a 2.1 overnight rating on NBC Monday — down 16% from last year (2.5) and down 38% from 2012 (3.4). The 2.1 matches 2010 as the lowest for final round coverage since 2008 (1.5).
Monday’s six-year low matched that of The Barclays a week earlier. That tournament had a slightly higher overnight for final round coverage (2.3).
Third round action on Sunday drew a 1.8 overnight — down 25% from last year (2.4), down 28% from 2012 (2.5) and the lowest since 2011 (1.5).
