The season debut of Sunday Night Football hit a five-year low in the overnights.
The Week 1 Colts/Broncos Sunday Night Football game drew a 15.1 overnight rating on NBC, down 9% from Giants/Cowboys last year (16.6) and down 16% from Broncos/Steelers in 2012 (18.0). The 2012 game featured the Denver debut of Peyton Manning.
The 15.1 overnight is the lowest for the Sunday night opener since 2009, when Packers/Bears drew a 13.4.
Colts/Broncos finished well behind the NFL national window on FOX (17.4) and the Thursday’s Packers/Seahawks Kickoff Game (16.8).
