It was not the draw FOX hoped it would be earlier in the month, but Oregon/UCLA still managed an increase for the network.
The Oregon/UCLA college football game drew a 1.4 overnight rating on FOX Saturday afternoon, up 40% from Baylor/Kansas State last year (1.0) and up 75% from Utah/UCLA in 2012 (0.8). The 1.4 was also up a tick from last year’s Oregon/Washington game on Fox Sports 1, which generated a decent amount of hype and was the site of College Gameday (1.3).
Saturday’s game was on pace to feature a battle of top ten playoff contenders, but both teams lost in week six.
Though up over last year, Oregon/UCLA had easily the lowest college football overnight of the weekend on broadcast. Head-to-head, it was topped by games on CBS (3.8), ABC (2.7) and NBC (2.3).
