For the first time in several weeks, the SEC was not the top draw of the week on ESPN. In other news, the College Gameday from Harvard/Yale was a much bigger draw than the game itself, and the EPL tied a season-high overnight on NBC.
Big Ten, Not SEC, Tops Charts on ESPN
- The Minnesota/Nebraska college football game drew a 2.0 overnight rating on ESPN Saturday afternoon, up 11% from Michigan State/Northwestern last year (1.8), and the network’s top game of the week. This week was the first in over a month in which the SEC was not ESPN’s top draw. Arizona/Utah drew a 0.9 later in the afternoon, down 25% from Wisconsin/Minnesota last year (1.2). Shifting to primetime, Tennessee/Missouri drew a 1.8 — up 29% from last year’s Missouri/Mississippi game (1.4).
Actual Harvard/Yale Game No Match For Gameday
- NBCSN earned a 0.3 overnight rating for Saturday’s Harvard/Yale college football game, a fraction of the 1.3 ESPN’s College Gameday drew from the site of the game that morning. Overnights for last year’s game were not immediately available, but it earned a 0.1 final rating.
Strong Outing For EPL on NBC
- Saturday’s Arsenal/Manchester United English Premier League match drew a 0.9 overnight rating on NBC, up 80% from West Ham/Chelsea last year (0.5), and tied as the network’s top overnight of the season. Manchester United/Chelsea, which ended up as NBC’s most-watched EPL match in the final tally, drew the same overnight in October.
