The latest edition of the UFC on FOX could not quite match the comparable telecast last year.
UFC on FOX 14 earned a 2.0 overnight rating Saturday night, down a tick from last year (2.1) and down 23% from 2013 (2.6). The 2.0 is the lowest for the January UFC event on FOX (four telecasts dating back to 2012). Compared to the most recent UFC on FOX telecast in December, the 2.0 overnight marks an 11% increase over a 1.8.
Head-to-head, the UFC on FOX was topped by the ladies’ free skate at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships on NBC (2.3). This is the second straight year the figure skating event has beaten the UFC.
The past eight UFC events on FOX have now failed to earn at least a 2.5 overnight. By comparison, four of the first six topped that mark.
