Continuing a recent trend, the UFC on FOX had another year-over-year decline in ratings and viewership.
The latest edition of the UFC on FOX drew a 1.8 final rating and 3.0 million viewers last Saturday night, down a tick in ratings and 4% in viewership from last January (1.9, 3.2M) and down 25% and 28%, respectively, from January 2013 (2.4, 4.2M). Compared to the most recent telecast in December (1.6, 2.8M), ratings and viewership increased by 13% and 10%, respectively.
Five of the past six UFC telecasts on FOX have had year-over-year declines in ratings and viewership. In addition, the past seven UFC on FOX events have failed to earn at least a 2.0 rating, compared to five of the previous seven.
Head-to-head, Saturday’s telecast trailed coverage of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships on NBC (2.2, 3.3M). The UFC dominated each key demographic, however, trouncing figure skating 1.2 to 0.5 among adults 18-49, 1.1 to 0.3 among adults 18-34, and 1.2 to 0.6 among adults 25-54.
