Kentucky delivered strong numbers for ESPN again Tuesday night. In other news, TNT hit an NBA season-low for Nuggets/Lakers, and the Carribean World Series set records on ESPN Deportes.
Kentucky’s Narrow Escape Up Big on ESPN
- Tuesday’s Kentucky/LSU college basketball game drew 2.4 million viewers on ESPN, up 159% from Florida/Tennessee last year (929K), up 19% from Kentucky/Florida in 2013 (2.0M), and the 8th-most watched game of the season on the ESPN networks. Later in the night, Wisconsin/Nebraska drew 1.2 million — down 20% from Michigan/Ohio State last year (1.4M) and down 48% from Michigan/Michigan State in 2013 (2.2M). (via ShowBuzz Daily)
Nuggets/Lakers Hits New NBA Season-Low
- The Nuggets/Lakers NBA regular season game earned 727,000 viewers on TNT Tuesday night, the smallest NBA audience of the season on any network (excludes NBA TV). The previous low was 733,000 for Nuggets/Grizzlies on TNT last month. Overall, it was the least-watched nationally televised game since Sixers/Heat in April 2013 — a game that was blacked out in the home markets and aired opposite the Final Four (683K). Rockets/Suns drew 893,000 earlier in the night, the fourth-smallest audience of the season. (via ShowBuzz Daily)
Caribbean World Series Sets ESPN Deportes Records
- The 2015 Caribbean World Series averaged 91,000 Hispanic viewers on ESPN Deportes (13 telecasts), trailing last year as the network’s most-watched edition of the event. Sunday’s Cuba/Mexico final drew 277,000 viewers in the demo, a record for any Caribbean Series telecast. The previous record was 236,000 for Puerto Rico/Dominican Republic in 2013 (236K).
