- Last Monday night’s Jets/Ravens game drew a 3.4 U.S. rating and 5 million viewers on ESPN, up 26% in ratings and 24% in viewers from a 2.7 and 4 million for last year’s comparable Seahawks/Chargers tilt. Through three games, ESPN is averaging a 3.2 U.S. rating and 4.8 million viewers for its coverage of the NFL preseason.
- FOX drew some weak numbers in big markets for Major League Baseball coverage on Saturday. Regional coverage drew a mere 0.8/2 in Philadelphia (#4 market), a 0.7/2 in Dallas (#5), a 0.9/2 in Atlanta (#8) and a 0.9/2 in Houston (#10). On a more positive note, FOX drew solid numbers in the top three markets, each of which had a team playing on the net — Mets/Cubs drew a 2.3/5 in N.Y. (#1) and a 4.6/12 in Chicago (#3), while Dodgers/Reds scored a 2.6/7 in Los Angeles (#2).
- The Championship Game of the Little League World Series, featuring California’s victory over Taiwan, drew a 2.8 overnight rating on ABC. Should the 2.8 hold, Sunday’s game would be up 33% in ratings over last year’s final.
