Ratings increased dramatically, but remained unimpressive, for last week’s BMW Championship.
Final round coverage of the BMW Championship, won by Tiger Woods, drew a 2.3 final rating on NBC Sunday — up 92% in ratings from a 1.2 last year, but down 26% from a 3.1 in ’07.
This marks the 7th straight PGA Tour event to have at least a 40% increase in final round ratings. Additionally, this is the 5th of Woods’ 6 PGA Tour victories this season to have at least a 90% increase in final round ratings.
Despite the increase, this is the lowest final round rating for an event won by Woods since the ’06 American Express Championship (now the WGC-CA Championship).
